EU Elections: CEJA publishes its 10-point Manifesto for generational renewal in agriculture

As the European Union prepares for the forthcoming elections, the European Council of Young Farmers (CEJA) is proud to announce the publication of its Manifesto for generational renewal in agriculture. The document outlines 10 critical points that demand the unwavering consideration of candidates competing for seats in the European Parliament: (1) Access to investment; (2) Climate change and water; (3) Access to land; (4) Future of the CAP; (5) Innovation, education, knowledge & skills; (6) Governance and legal certainty; (7) Income and position in the value chain; (8) Rural areas and livelihood; (9) Youth involvement and funding; (10) A better consideration of the diversity of farming systems.

Rūdolfs Pulkstenis, Vice President of CEJA, emphasised the significance of this Manifesto, stating: "Young farmers are looking to the future new Members of the European Parliament with great expectations. We will closely monitor their actions and advocate for policies that support the interests of young farmers, ensure sustainable prospects for a generation full of ideas, projects, goodwill and vocation”.

CEJA stands ready to contribute to discussions surrounding the future of agriculture in Europe, thanks to its network of 33 national member organisations, with a strong willingness to engage in dialogue. This begins on Monday evening 25th of March: CEJA opens the door to all EU election candidates for a discussion with its young farmers from all over Europe, gathered in Brussels for a 2-day working group.
